Every year, Norfolk Day is a chance to celebrate everything that makes this beautiful county so special. From its stunning coastline and peaceful countryside to its welcoming communities and thriving independent businesses, there is so much to be proud of.
For me, though, Norfolk is more than just a place to live. It's home.
As a hand embroiderer and sewing tutor based in Wymondham, I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days doing something I love in a county that has inspired creativity for generations. Whether I'm stitching a personalised keepsake, teaching a child their very first sewing project, or helping someone develop their embroidery skills through one-to-one tuition, I'm constantly reminded how fortunate I am to call Norfolk home.

Sewing classes for children in Wymondham
One of my greatest joys is introducing children to the world of sewing.
There is something magical about watching a young person realise they can create something with their own hands. Sewing teaches patience, creativity, confidence and problem-solving, but most importantly, it's fun.
At stART Studio in Wymondham, I run a range of sewing and textile classes designed to help children develop practical skills in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Whether they're complete beginners or already love making things, every child is welcomed and supported at their own pace.
In a world that is increasingly digital, giving children the opportunity to create something real, with fabric, thread and imagination, feels more valuable than ever.
Personalised 1:1 sewing and embroidery tuition
Not everyone learns in the same way, which is why I also offer private one-to-one sewing and embroidery tuition in Wymondham.
These sessions are completely tailored to the individual. Whether someone wants to learn the basics of using a sewing machine, improve their hand embroidery, work on a specific project or simply build confidence, we can focus entirely on their goals.
One-to-one tuition provides the time and space to ask questions, learn at your own speed and enjoy creating without any pressure. It's suitable for both adults and children and can make a real difference for anyone who prefers individual support.
Creativity has a home in Norfolk
Norfolk has always been a county full of makers.
From artists and craftspeople to small independent businesses, creativity runs through so many of our communities. I love being part of that, and I hope that through my classes, workshops and embroidery commissions, I can encourage others to discover the satisfaction that comes from making something by hand.
Whether you're looking for children's sewing classes in Wymondham, embroidery tuition in Norfolk, or you're simply curious about learning a new creative skill, I'd love to welcome you.
Happy Norfolk Day!
Today feels like the perfect opportunity to say thank you to this wonderful county for inspiring my work every single day.
I'm proud to live here, proud to teach here, and proud to help people of all ages discover the joy of sewing and embroidery in the heart of Norfolk.
If you've been thinking about trying sewing yourself, or you're looking for a creative activity for your child, perhaps Norfolk Day is the perfect day to begin.
